In the UK we take public services for granted.

But for many people in developing countries, fetching water is a full day’s work, and buying medicine means pawning the family’s assets.

We will:

• help economies to grow…
  stronger economies mean more jobs and more income for governments to spend on public services – we will make it easier for businesses, and invest in infrastructure, agriculture and trade;
• give more support…
  to help poor countries get children into school, improve healthcare, provide clean water, and offer social benefits like pensions for the poorest people;
• promote peace and security…
  conflict and violence keep people poor – we will work with poor countries, the UN and the international community to prevent and manage conflict; and
• invest in technology…
  to find better drugs and cleaner energy, help farmers with new techniques and manage the dangers of climate change.
