My name is Zina Lewis I am 22, from East London and will be joining a team of volunteers to visit the Afadjato Agumatasa project in the district of Hohoe in Ghana.

I found out about the opportunity through an email from a friend asking for young people aged 18 – 25 year olds to volunteer in developing countries for a 10 week period. I had wanted to volunteer overseas for a long time but could never afford to so the fact that the trip is fully sponsored was a huge relief and a great incentive to pursue the opportunity further.

The process of applying was really quick, within a week of sending my interest and requesting further info I had received an application pack, and had my place confirmed within two weeks. After a week of knowing I had been accepted on to the programme, I had all the information I needed to get the ball rolling with applying for a VISA and getting my injections. Read more...
