Aid effectiveness in different contexts
Overview
DFID works in several different contexts, including aid-dependent countries, fragile states and middle income countries. Maximising aid effectiveness requires a sound understanding of each context, what can help bring about change, what the objectives of engagement are, and therefore what types of aid allocation, relationship and instrument are needed.
DFID approach
Work is underway on aid effectiveness in different contexts across different teams in DFID including Aid Effectiveness, Poverty Reduction in Difficult Environments, and International Division Advisory Department. This work is helping to review and develop thinking on evidence, policy, best practice and guidance.
