Gaining formal qualifications for your Global School Partnership work

Through accreditation you can gain professional recognition for the difference you make.

As a professional, your school partnership work may afford you opportunities to gain postgraduate accreditation - perhaps a certificate, a diploma or as part of a Masters degree. It may involve a piece of action research, some curriculum development, or a professional portfolio. Make the work you are doing for your global link part of your professional development.

If you are involved in a Global School Partnership you can use your learning as a part of your professional development at a university and gain accreditation. Opportunities are available in all the UK nations.

As part of the Global School Partnerships programme, Cambridge Education Foundation is identifying accreditation options available to UK and southern country teachers. Many of the options in the UK are not aimed solely at teachers. The common theme is experience of global school partnerships and global education. If you are a teacher or other professional seeking accreditation for the work you are doing in your global partnership, you may want to know more. 

What is my next step?

You need to identify a higher education institution that offers you what you want to do. You can view Universities offering accreditation opportunities for teachers by following the relevant link on the right hand side of this page. In England you can also choose to follow the professional recognition route offered by the General Teaching Council's Teacher Learning Academy.

A Beacon of light in Colombo
