Commonwealth Broadcasting Association DFID Programme Development Fund

Eligible organisations

Established UK based Television Producers/Production Companies.

Funding criteria

Established UK Producers/Production companies may apply with programme/series proposals that will promote better understanding of the developing world. All proposals must be accompanied by a letter of interest from a UK mainstream broadcaster. There are three advertised closing dates per year.

Up to £8,000 as 80% of a Programme Development Budget

Objectives of the Scheme

1. To support established factual television producers wishing to produce programmes, for mainstream UK transmission, that promote understanding of the developing world.

2. To provide a surce of funding for developing work on factual television projects made in and about developing countries. Grants are intended to help cover the costs of research, pilot filming and the procurement of filming rights and access.

3. To improve the quality and quantity of viable programme proposals in this area of output, likely to interest commissioning editors.
