The DFID Community Linking Programme (DCLP) is an exciting new programme that will increase knowledge and understanding of global issues in the UK by supporting new and existing Links between community groups in the UK and developing countries.
DCLP is funded by UKaid from DFID, which will be providing £3 million for this programme over 3 years. It is delivered by a consortium of the British Council, the Institute for Community Cohesion (iCoCo), the Inter Faith Network for the UK (IFN) and VSO.
The programme will support learning and activities that will benefit community groups in the UK and developing countries. DCLP will also encourage greater community cohesion in the UK by providing opportunities for networking and learning about development issues.
The programme will support both new and existing Links between community groups in the UK and those in countries currently receiving Official Development Assistance, through a range of grants and learning opportunities available from Spring 2010.
If you are involved in a UK community group that has a Link with a group in a developing country, we want to hear your story. Your Link might be a charitable project with a community in a developing country, an exchange programme or visits to a particular community, or a wide-reaching community partnership, or something different. Whatever it is, even if you don't have a focus on development, we'd love to know more. By completing the survey, you'll enable us to tell you more about the grants, learning and support that will be available from Spring 2010 and help us find good practice examples to showcase to other groups.
