Thank you for your interest in the DFID Graduate Development Scheme. The 2013 Scheme will open in January 2013 and applications will be accepted until mid-March 2013.   Assessment centres will then be held at our Glasgow (East Kilbride) or London office, and approximately 50 successful candidates will join DFID in September 2013 for a period of 50 weeks.

If successful, the Graduate Development Scheme will provide you with valuable work experience and challenges that will develop your skills across a broad range of areas. You will have a development programme which will include personal development options, e-learning, a mentor and dedicated time for reflection and peer learning.

During the 50 week programme you will be involved in valuable projects in a team or area suited to your skills and experience.  Some of the areas include:

  • EU, UN & Commonwealth Policy
  • Private Sector Development
  • Climate, Environment & Infrastructure
  • Civil Society
  • Youth Development and Policy
  • World Health

  • Research, Evidence & Evaluation
  • Development Education
  • Aid Project Analysis, Procurement, Value for Money Audit
  • IT, Finance and HR
