In September / October 2010 DFID took part in the second Civil Service wide People Survey. This is the largest engagement survey in the UK, with 103 organisations and 325,119 staff taking part.
For the second year running, all organisations asked the same questions. This allows departments to compare themselves across the civil service and, by running a single survey, means we have reduced costs by over 40 per cent.
The report details DFID’s results for 2010 and the change since 2009.
The overall response rate for the civil service was 62 per cent. The response rate in DFID’s was 89 per cent. The average employee engagement index score for the civil service was 56 per cent (down 2 per cent on 2009). In DFID the index score is 71 per cent, 1 per cent lower than 2009.
In line with other government departments DFID is publishing its results.
