The proposal form is designed to allow you to record all of the information that DFID needs to assess whether your project is suitable for support. It is important to note that there are 2 distinct proposal forms. One is for organisations seeking project (restricted) funding, and one is for organisations seeking unrestricted funding.

It is also very important you read the Frequently Asked Questions before you start working on your proposal, to ensure that you understand and take into account the criteria of the fund.
FAQs on the use of funds raised
FAQs on running the appeal
FAQs on the applicant organisation
FAQs on the application process
You must send the following documents by email to UKAidMatch@dfid.gov.uk.
If successful in passing the initial assessment, applicants will then be required to submit two further documents: a logical framework (unless already submitted, for unrestricted funding) and a communications plan. The logical framework template and guidance is available under Related Documents. DFID will also offer guidance to help applicants to structure their Communications Plans.
In the form:
“Applicant organisation” refers to the organisation applying to DFID for match funding. This organisation may be different from the intended recipient of match funding. E.g. the applicant organisation could be a newspaper running an appeal for a development project.
“Recipient organisation” refers to the organisation that would actually receive and use the funds raised by the appeal and the match funds.
“Media Partner” refers to the media organisation partnering with the recipient organisation which will publicise the development appeal.
“Partner organisation” refers to partners to the recipient organisation involved in the implementation of the match funded project. Generally such organisations will be those that implement the match funded project in the developing country. The term does not refer to the media partner publicising the appeal.
“Consortium member” refers to any organisation that is jointly responsible for managing funds received from the match funding grant. The term does not refer to the media partner publicising the appeal.
