Based in the United States, the Asia Foundation was established in 1954 and currently works in 18 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. The Foundation supports Asian initiatives to improve governance and law, economic development, women's empowerment, the environment, and regional cooperation.
A three year Programme Partnership Arrangement has been agreed with the Asian Foundation with an initial investment of £2,445,030 for 2011-12.
