Local Authority Grants are designed to create international relationships that can broker and support partnerships with a focus on global education.
Global School Partnerships is funded by UKaid from the Department for International Development and managed by the British Council, Cambridge Education Foundation, UK One World Linking Association and VSO.
The core aims of the Local Authority Grant are to:
Local Authority Grants are available to local authorities (and their equivalents in Southern countries) that represent a group of schools. The grant provides funding and partner ten UK schools with ten Southern schools. The grant is designed to develop a relationship between a UK local authority (LA) representative and a district education office (DEO) or ministry of education (MoE) representative in an eligible Southern country.
Local authorities wishing to apply for this grant will need to discuss their partnership with their regional coordinator as there are limits on the numbers of grants available per country. If agreed, your regional coordinator will e-mail you the application form and guidance.
Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
