The Capacity Development Fund will enable Rwanda’s Ministry of Education to better plan, manage and deliver education and so improve the quality of education for all children in Rwanda. The Fund will operate at the national and district level to strengthen the capacity of departments, teams and individuals.
The Capacity Development Fund is financed by the UK Department for International Development and implemented in partnership with the Government of Rwanda.
The capacity development needs of Rwanda’s education sector have been identified and immediate priorities agreed with the Ministry of Education. These are captured in a three year Capacity Development Plan which includes activities to support the Ministry of Education, agencies such as the Rwanda Education Board, and District Education Offices.
A roster of potential suppliers is being established. These suppliers will be invited to tender against a series of calls over the period 2012 to 2015.
Both international and domestic suppliers from non-state organisations are potentially eligible.
Terms of reference will be issued by the Fund Manager and suppliers selected in collaboration with DFID and the Ministry of Education.
The Fund Manager for the Capacity Development Fund Mott MacDonald Ltd, is based at the Rwandan Ministry of Education (MINEDUC) in Kigali. Tel: +250 (0)7863 40061 or email: innovation.rwanda@gmail.com
