Your innovative business partnership must be led by a private sector enterprise that is either a retailer or a retail brand with an established share of the UK or other European market, or is working in partnership with such an enterprise. All food products are eligible (including fish and meat), as well as agricultural products such as flowers or ingredients. For more information, please contact the FRICH fund management team.
FRICH is a competition and the independent FRICH Advisory Committee assesses applications in two stages.
Bidders initially submit a concept note. A concept note is a short outline of the proposed idea, setting out how African farmers will be connected with global retailers in innovative business partnerships, what challenges will be faced, the organisations involved and the results that will be achieved.
The FRICH Advisory Committee will invite all bidders submitting concept notes which meet the eligibility criteria, to prepare a project proposal.
A project proposal provides a detailed description of the proposed project and expected results, the implementation arrangements, the amount of grant sought and the financial contribution from the bidding partners.
Bidders invited to submit a project proposal will have a good chance of being funded if the Advisory Committee judges that it meets the selection criteria set out in the application pack.
