Our public consultation to reform CDC Group plc

28 February 2011

This consultation is now closed

On 28 February 2011, we published a summary of the consultation responses and other useful documents from the process.

Andrew Mitchell, Secretary of State for International Development said:

"I am grateful for the wide range of contributions and views on this consultation. I have said that CDC has the potential to be the jewel in the crown of the UK’s support to the private sector in developing countries. We will now carefully consider these consultation findings as we work to reform and revitalise CDC to drive more effective investment in countries where businesses cannot usually find investment partners."

About CDC

CDC’s role is to stimulate economic growth by providing much needed capital for investment in sustainable and responsibly managed private sector businesses in developing countries, with an emphasis on sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.

A reformed CDC will be at the forefront of the UK’s efforts to intensify its work with business as part of the fight against poverty in the world's poorest countries.
