DFID has been working directly in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPTs) for over 16 years.

Our work supports a wider international objective: creation of a viable and independent Palestinian state, so that Palestinians can live in peace alongside a secure Israel.

Major challenges

UK aid supports the peace process by:

  • helping to build the institutions of a future Palestinian state.
  • supporting economic development.
  • assisting Palestinian refugees across the region.
  • responding to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
