DFID works with our North African and Middle Eastern partners to address regional issues, including working with key Pan-African institutions such as the African Union and the African Development Bank.
Syria crisis
The humanitarian situation in Syria is gravely concerning. The UK is currently providing vital food, medical care, shelter and other essential humanitarian support to tens of thousands of people affected by the fighting in Syria and to more than 45,000 refugees in Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey and Iraq.
