In seeking to address the persistent inequality and poverty in Latin America, DFID has focused its efforts on those areas which will have the most impact on the underlying causes of inequality and poverty.
DFID seeks to promote inclusive governance in the region, and to support governments able to respond to the needs of the poorest and seek to address deep rooted social exclusion.
