Safe water and sanitation have the potential to save millions of lives around the world. Without them, killer illnesses and diarrhoea can thrive, and poor health stops people from even beginning to lift themselves out of poverty.

By helping people meet these basic needs we can help prevent around 2.4 million unnecessary deaths every year and ensure that millions of people are able to live happier, healthier, more productive lives.

By 2015 we will:

  • Give 15 million people access to clean drinking water
  • Improve access to sanitation for 25 million people
  • Improve hygiene for 15 million to help stop people getting sick
