Changes to the DFID website

New logo

Aid from Britain will now be badged with a Union Flag when it is sent overseas, as a clear symbol that it comes from the United Kingdom.

The new UK aid logo and a new departmental logo were published on the website on 25 June 2012.

Making our projects easier to understand

We have improved our Project information and individual country pages in Where we work. This is part of our ongoing commitment to make our work more transparent.

In response to feedback from website users, we have introduced some colourful charts, graphs and maps to better illustrate the range of our work and how projects are divided up across countries and sectors.

What’s new?

The homepage of the projects database has a new look. There is a list of our latest projects and the most recently published project documents, including new business cases. You can search by sector and keyword, or by finding a country on the world map.

When you view a project, instead of just seeing the title and description, you now see a colourful pie chart showing the project budget by sector. Hover over each sector with your mouse to see the latest budget for that sector. This is an excellent way of illustrating how DFID-funded projects can target a variety of priorities.

Each project has a bar chart showing project budget by year. There is also a new graphic showing project progress by time.

There is a new look to each of the country pages on the Where we work section. The graphics showing historical spend data have been replaced by new pie charts and bar graphs of actual spend and budget data. This will provide a more up-to-date and consistent set of data.

We would welcome any comments or feedback, either by email to Website-Team@dfid.gov.uk or using the feedback page on the website.  Alternatively, please respond to us on Twitter or Facebook.
