International school partnerships are of great interest to the media. Your school may attract radio, television or newspaper attention as a result of your partnership which is a great opportunity to gain recognition and raise your profile in the local community. It's also a way to promote the programme.

Media tool kit for schools

Global School Partnerships has developed a media tool kit for schools which you can use to engage your local medi and generate publicity around your partnership.

The media tool kit for schools includes:

  • how to write a press release
  • contacting the press
  • inviting journalists to events
  • advice on photography
  • advice on interviews

Press release templates

Press releases are the best way to send information to your local media. To save you time, we have developed press release templates for you to include all the necessary programme facts and figures, so you can just focus on adding in your partnership story.

There are three versions depending on where you are in your Global School Partnership journey:

1. Partnership launch press release

2. Incoming visit press release

3. Outgoing visit press release

If your partnership does receive any press coverage, please let us know by sending an email to sharon.williams@britishcouncil.org.  Read a selection of press coverage that schools in the Global School Partnership programme have achieved.
