GSP beyond the UK
63 countries have participated.
Registered countries begin with every letter of the alphabet except F, O, Q, W, X and Y!
There are between 1 and nearly 500 partnerships in different countries.
As small as Micronesia to as big as Democratic Republic of Congo.
As far west as Mexico to as far east as Micronesia.
As far north as Nepal to as far south as South Africa.
GSP in the UK
All nations and regions have participated with well over 100 partnerships in each.
London has the broadest range of partnership countries with an amazing 41.
All other UK nations and regions are partnered with more than 20 (except NI with 14).
Nearly every Southern Partner Country has partnerships with every UK region! Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia and Sierra Leone being the exceptions.
When the programme closes we will reach our target of 5,000 UK schools, more than 1 in 6.
And last but not least…
Northern Ireland and Nigeria grew from less than 20 partnerships to well over 100 over the course of 2009-12.
Partnerships have persisted and thrived in challenging environments from Pakistan to Nigeria.
GSP can be found in every type of nation from Kingdoms (Lesotho) to Republics (Cuba)!
