Officials asked the Board to consider options for DFID’s engagement on aid bearing in mind the dynamic context. The Board agreed that DFID should continue to play a leading international role on aid effectiveness, particularly for countries affected by conflict and fragility. The Board asked officials to come back with an update in 6 months.
Officials asked the Board to approve proposals on: information to be published under the UK Aid Transparency Guarantee; mechanisms to strengthen accessibility and feedback; and how to influence partners to improve their transparency. The Board endorsed the paper’s proposals and emphasised that the drive to improve data quality access will have major benefits for DFID staff and internal communications.
The Board noted the report on August expenditure.
