Corporate Governance Structure

The Secretary of State, with support from the Minister of State and Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, sets DFID strategy and policy, with advice from the following groups:

Departmental Board

The Departmental Board sets DFID’s strategic direction, including oversight of the DFID Business Plan, advises on the implementation of DFID’s strategy and policy priorities, and monitors results. Further information on the Departmental Board.

Executive Management Committee

The Executive Management Committee provides strategic direction to the management of DFID's operations, staff and financial resources. Further information on the Executive Management Committee.

The Executive Management Committee is supported by a number of sub-committees:

  • The Development Policy Committee, chaired by Director for Policy.
  • The Audit Committee.
  • The Investment Committee, chaired by DG Finance and Corporate Performance.
  • The Security Committee, chaired by DG Country Programmes.
  • The Senior Leadership Committee, chaired by the Permanent Secretary.
