The purpose of the Audit Committee is to support the Management Board to ensure a financially sound and efficient organisation, which makes full and effective use of resources in support of DFID objectives.
The Audit Committee met on 24 June 2011 to discuss:
The Acting Head of Financial Accounting and Operations confirmed that Audit Committee and National Audit Office (NAO) comments had been reflected in the accounts which would be laid before parliament on 7th July 2011. The Committee endorsed the accounts.
The Committee endorsed the final accounts for signing.
NAO confirmed that they would be recommending an unqualified audit opinion. It was also agreed that the finance team would share next year’s timetable for reviewing the accounts with NAO.
Internal Audit Department confirmed they had reviewed DFID’s preparations for the implementation of the Bribery Act 2010.
