Aid statistics

DFID is responsible for collecting, compiling, reporting and disseminating statistics on the deployment of official and private UK financial resources to support developing countries.

Statistics on International Development (SID)

Our annual publication Statistics on International Development (SID) provides information on the UK’s Gross Public Expenditure on Development (GPEX) which includes both the DFID aid programme and official aid that is provided through other UK government departments. The final figures for UK Official Development Assistance (ODA) are also reported in SID.

Revisions to the Publication

A revision has been made to Statistics on International Development 2012 on 2nd November 2012 to correct errors in Table 19 (DFID Expenditure through UK CSOs 2011/12) and the ‘Partnership Programme Agreements’ line within Table 3. These changes do not affect total GPEX or ODA figures, or Tables 1-2, 4-18 or 20-21.
In Table 19, some values within the ‘Partnership Programme Agreement’ and ‘Country and Other DFID Programmes’ columns had been included within an incorrect column. In addition, humanitarian assistance had been counted within both the ‘Humanitarian Assistance’ and ‘Country and Other DFID Programmes’ columns. In Table 3, only the ‘Partnership Programme Agreements’ line required revision.
The net effect of these changes is to reduce the figure for total DFID expenditure through UK CSOs from £369 million to £336 million.

Other minor changes have been made to the publication for clarification. A footnote has been added to Table 2 and text has been amended within the glossary and data sources sections.

These changes have been made to the publication (pages vii, 19, 20, 29, 97-98, 112, 120, 132 and 133) and have been reflected within the web content.
