Public opinion research

DFID commissions two annual public attitude surveys. One (commissioned annually since 1999) monitors the opinion of the UK adult population. The second (commissioned annually since 2000) monitors the opinion of schoolchildren and is undertaken by Market and Opinion Research International (MORI).

The survey results are used to inform, and monitor the impact of, our work on development awareness and education. DFID has also undertaken two sets of focus group research, to explore how we can increase levels of understanding of, and support for, international development within the UK.

Please contact the Public enquiry point with any comments.
